The Infection Control Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating specialty areas, or participating in identified projects or groups related to infection control practice. Assists with hospital-wide surveillance programs as necessary. The Infection Control Specialist is a professional nurse with advanced knowledge, skill and competence in Infection Control. Serves as a resource to all hospital departments, medical staff and community as it relates to preventing disease transmission in all ages (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric).
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
BS in Nursing or allied health field required; Master's degree preferred.
Certified in the practice of infection control or epidemiology.
Two (2) years experience in infection control practice or epidemiology preferred.
The days vary.
